Red Kite Watching
Combine a short break in our charming hotel situated in the centre of Wallingford, a pretty market town with fine Georgian and Elizabethan houses with the chance to view the majestic Red Kite. We will supply you with a brochure showing where to go to watch in our area. Red kites were driven to extinction during the nineteenth century but were reintroduced between 1989 and 1994 by the RSPB and English Nature. Red kites started breeding in the Chilterns in 1992 and now there are over 300 breeding pairs and it's possible to see one of Britain's best-loved birds of prey almost anywhere in the area.
